Dear Parents/Carers

I would like to thank all those who have contributed to the Mini Olympics and who came along to cheer on the children. I hope you all enjoyed it, as I know the children did. Please could we have all the sponsor money in as soon as possible.

We will let you know the total amount raised as soon as we can.
This money will be put towards more resources for our new outdoor play area.

We are fast approaching the end of the school year and I would like to inform you of the last few things happening this term.

Next Wednesday 25th June we are holding a "Bring a Bear" charity day to celebrate Paddington Bear's 50th birthday and to raise money for the "Touching Tiny Lives" Campaign, which helps sick and vulnerable babies. I would not normally ask you to give money so soon after our Mini Olympics but felt that this was a very good cause. All we are asking is that you donate £1 per child, which will then be forwarded to the charity.

We would also like to make it a fun day for the children by asking that you let them bring in a teddy bear. We will be making marmalade sandwiches, which are Paddington's favourite food and holding a teddy bear's picnic.

We will also have a hunt the bear activity outside.

Cherrywood Primary School's reception class teacher Mrs. Harrison has started to visit the children who will be attending her class in September and we have arranged a couple of visits into the school so that the children can familiarise themselves with the classroom.

On 8th and 15th July Mrs. Harrison will be holding a drop in- session for parents to meet with her for an informal chat and to look around the classrooms.

We will let you know the times.

On 30th June we will be having a male student, Jason, joining us for 2 weeks work experience. We have never had a male student in preschool before and I think it will be a valuable experience for the children as well as for Jason.

We also have 2 students from Oak Farm School doing their work experience with us for one week from 14th July.

The last day of term will be Wednesday 23rd July when we will have our end of term parties. These are for all the children including those who do not normally attend on these sessions.

We will advise on the times of these at a later date.
